Senior Wintel Server Engineer / Administrator -  Dublin

Location: Dublin (Onsite with Hybrid option)
Contract Duration: 12 months (full-time)

Overview:
Intellect is supporting a public sector organisation in their search for a highly experienced Senior Wintel Server Engineer / Administrator to join their IT Systems Administration & Infrastructure Support Team. This is a key role where you will actively contribute to the stability, security, and efficiency of enterprise-level IT infrastructure.

As a Senior Wintel Engineer, you will:

• Support the design and troubleshooting of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows core services.

• Administer and manage SCCM for deploying and managing devices in an enterprise environment.

• Work closely with network, application, and middleware teams to support product installations and deployments.

• Manage and administer virtual environments (VMware), physical servers, and SAN storage (Dell).

• Oversee Veeam Backup & Recovery Suite.

• Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and system tuning.

• Support enterprise applications including SharePoint, Microsoft 365 migrations, and Citrix environments.

• Analyse and resolve system performance issues, providing expert guidance to junior team members.

• Use PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate administrative tasks.

• Contribute to Business Continuity Planning and exercises.

Key Requirements (Mandatory):

• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in a senior Wintel/Server Engineer role.

• Relevant certifications: Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, and Veeam.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent proven experience).

• Fluent English (C2 proficiency if not native).

Required Skills & Experience (minimum 7 years):

• Proven expertise in Windows Server Administration and enterprise-level environments.

• Strong knowledge of system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server architecture.

• Skilled in Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File Servers.

• Experienced in Patch Management, Clustering, Security, Antivirus, and System Monitoring.

• Background in server OS upgrades, security certificate management, and configuration management.

• Hands-on experience with VMware, Dell hardware, and enterprise-scale Windows servers.

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex incidents and proactively prevent issues.
