Junior Helpdesk Support – Hybrid (4 Positions)

We are seeking four enthusiastic and capable Junior Helpdesk Support professionals to join a high-performing ICT team supporting a key public sector client.

Location: Hybrid working model (minimum 1 day per week onsite in Longford HQ; subject to change)
Start Date: 1st October 2025
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Full-time)
Contract Duration: 24 months
Travel Requirement: Minimal, but flexibility to attend on-site when required is essential


About the Role:
As a Junior Helpdesk Support Engineer, you will play an essential role in providing first-line support for users across both administrative offices and operational prison environments. You will contribute to the smooth running of systems, assist in managing incidents and service requests, and help resolve technical issues across a broad technology stack.
This role provides excellent hands-on experience across a wide range of systems including Windows, Active Directory, enterprise applications, communication platforms, MDM tools, and hardware support, ideal for professionals looking to advance within IT operations or systems administration.

Work Environment & Roster:
This position follows a rotating hybrid schedule (subject to change):

  • Week 1: Mon–Fri onsite (08:00–16:30)
  • Week 2: Mon–Wed onsite (09:00–17:30)
  • Weeks 3–6: Fully remote
  • Weekend/Public Holiday coverage: Required on a rotating basis
  • Remote work must be performed within jurisdictions governed by EU GDPR regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 1 support via phone, email, and walk-ins; log and track incidents and requests through a ticketing system. Troubleshoot and support:
  • Windows OS (10/11, Server 2012–2019)
  • Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, SharePoint, MECM
  • Microsoft Exchange (2013–2019) and Office Suite
  • Citrix environments and Cisco communication tools
  • Support users with password resets, printer issues, device setup (PCs, tablets, smartphones)
  • Maintain and configure mobile devices (Android, iOS, Windows) and MDM platforms
  • Use service request tools (e.g., ManageEngine, Zendesk) to track and resolve issues
  • Engage with second-line support when escalation is needed and assist with triaging
  • Image and deploy new devices, monitor antivirus status, and support application access management
  • Provide support across bespoke systems including Lotus Notes, PIMS, Cisco Call Manager, and more

Essential Experience & Skills:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a helpdesk or desktop support role in an enterprise IT environmentStrong knowledge of:
  • Windows desktop and server environments
  • Active Directory, MECM, and GPOs
  • Microsoft Office and Exchange
  • Troubleshooting hardware and application issues
  • Ticketing and remote support systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, MDM tools, and antivirus platforms

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Fluent English language skills - C2 Mastery/Proficiency certificate for non-native speakers (evidence required)
  • Availability to work hybrid roster Monday–Friday (08:00–20:00) and participate in rotating weekend/public holiday coverage (no work on Christmas Day)
  • Must be based within the EU and capable of working under EU GDPR compliance for remote operations
  • Evidence of any cited certifications or degrees must be provided prior to contract award
