Intermediate Wintel Server Engineer – Hybrid (Longford)
Location: Hybrid working model (minimum 1 day per week onsite in Longford)
Start Date: 13th October 2025
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Full-time)
Contract Duration: 24 months
Working Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday, between 08:00 and 19:00 (Irish local time), with core hours from 10:00–12:30 & 14:30–16:00
On-Call Requirement: Shared weekly on-call rota (approx. every fifth week), primarily offsite. TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) is provided.
Remote Work: Must be carried out from within the EU in accordance with GDPR regulations
Travel Requirement: Occasional travel to other IPS sites – candidates must have their own vehicle, a full clean driving license, and valid business-class car insurance.
About the Role:
We are seeking two Intermediate Wintel Server Engineers to join our high-performing infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining an extensive Microsoft server environment as well as various virtualisation, backup, storage, and application platforms.

Role Description:
As a Wintel Server Engineer, you will be responsible for the configuration, optimisation, support, and integration of a variety of on-premise systems including Microsoft Server environments, virtual platforms, storage, backup, and enterprise applications. Key deliverables include:
- Managing Microsoft server environments across multiple sites
- Supporting and optimising virtual environments (Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix)
- Implementing and supporting Microsoft deployment technologies and operating systems
- Supporting email platforms including Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino
- Configuring Citrix environments, backup solutions, CCTV integrations, and storage platforms
- Participating in infrastructure projects as a Windows team lead
- Responding to and resolving service desk escalations
Mandatory Requirements (Pass/Fail):
To be considered, all of the following must be strictly met:
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a Wintel Server Engineer or equivalent IT infrastructure role
- Qualifications:
- Must hold a Level 8 Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent qualification under the Irish NFQ framework)
- Proof of qualification will be required prior to award
- Driving Licence:
- Must possess a full, clean driving licence
- Must have own vehicle and business-class car insurance (evidence required)
- No disqualifications or current/pending penalty points
- English Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English
- Non-native speakers must provide evidence of CEFR Level C2 (Mastery) proficiency certification

- Storage: Nimble, HP 3Par, SANs, Scality S3, Brocade
- Backup solutions: Rubrik, HP Data Protector, Quest NetVault
- Security tools: Trellix, Ivanti, TrendMicro ScanMail
- CCTV systems (Edesix, Intellex, Victor) and their integration
- Enterprise apps: Oracle Financials, AutoCAD, BMS, SolidWorks, Tableau
- Scripting, automation, remote access tools (PowerShell, Dameware, NetSupport)
