Cyber Security Engineer (Intermediate) – Hybrid (Longford)
Location: Hybrid working model (minimum 1 day per week onsite in Longford)
Start Date: 13th October 2025
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Full-time)
Contract Duration: 24 months
Working Hours: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday, core hours 10:00–12:30 & 14:30–16:00 (Irish local time)
On-Call: On a shared weekly rota basis with the Cyber Security team
Travel Requirement: Occasional travel to other sites – candidates must be based within the EU, and remote work must comply with GDPR regulations
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Intermediate Cyber Security Engineer with a minimum of 4 years’ professional experience to join our dedicated Cyber Security team. Role Description:
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and execution of security initiatives and be involved in key functions such as:
- Conducting cyber security maturity assessments and third-party/vendor risk evaluations
- Performing cloud vendor assessments and reviewing security controls against ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2, and regulatory frameworks
- Developing and implementing security awareness programs
- Drafting security policies and operational security plans
- Identifying and mitigating security threats and vulnerabilities
- Overseeing internet and email security monitoring
- Leading threat and vulnerability management, forensics, and incident investigations
- Participating in 24/7 SOC operations and enterprise mobility management
- Collaborating with infrastructure teams to shape security policy and technical procedures
Mandatory Requirements:
Applicants must meet all the following to be considered:
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a Cyber Security Engineer role (strictly enforced)
- Certifications: Valid certification in all of the following areas:
- Cyber Security Operations
- Cloud Security
- Cyber Security Analysis
(Documented evidence required prior to appointment)
English Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential
If not a native speaker, a CEFR Level C2 certificate is required
(Must be provided prior to contract award)
Key Experience and Competencies:
This role involves working with a broad and advanced technology stack. Proficiency in the following is highly desirable:

- Firewalls (Juniper SRX5400, Cisco ASA-Firepower), IDS/IPS, VPNs, NACs
- Windows Server (2012–2019), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies
- Microsoft Exchange (2013–2019), Office 365, Windows 10/11
- Vulnerability Management (e.g., Qualys), Penetration Testing
Security Tools & Platforms:
- Varonis Datadvantage, Sophos AV, Bullwall Ransomcare, McAfee/Trellix, Trend Scanmail
- Cisco IronPort (Email/Web), Cisco Security Manager, Ivanti MobileIron MDM

Advanced Capabilities:
