DevOps Engineer (Junior)

Location: Based in Wexford – Hybrid – Up to 2 days onsite, as needed, in either Wexford or Dublin.
Start Date: June 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day between 08:00–18:00
Contract Duration: 12 months


The role in brief:
Our client is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support the development and management of hybrid Azure infrastructure through automation, scripting, and cloud best practices. You will play a key role in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, maintaining network configurations, and collaborating on CI/CD integration. The role is offered on a full-time basis, with a hybrid working pattern requiring up to onsite days in Wexford or Dublin. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience who holds an AZ-104 (or higher) certification and is ready to contribute to secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. A valid Full Irish driver’s license and own transport are essential due to the occasional travel requirements.

Key Requirements (Mandatory):

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience junior-level DevOps experience

  • Availability from the commencement date

  • NFQ Level 6 (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or IT

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator AZ-104 (or higher) certification

  • Full Irish driving license and own transport for occasional onsite attendance


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years in software framework development and maintenance

  • 3+ years in Python development and Azure IaC (preferably using Bicep)

  • 3+ years in Azure hybrid network design and configuration

  • 3+ years managing Azure environments (monitoring, logging, alerting)

  • Proven ability to work independently and produce robust documentation


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain Bicep IaC scripts for Azure

  • Develop automation tools and scripts in Python

  • Integrate CI/CD pipelines with development teams

  • Optimize infrastructure for performance and cost

  • Configure hybrid cloud networks (hub-spoke, firewalls, DNS, Azure Front Door, etc.)

  • Implement and maintain security best practices

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues

  • Document systems and procedures thoroughly
